Kings Cross comes alive after midnight. The best time to busk on Darlinghurst Rd is between 12 and 4 am. This decision was made on the basis of noise!
How can the sound of a guitar compare to the different disco music comminig out of the strip clubs? The city is so noisey....full of traffic fumes, honking horns....it's just terrible. Kings Cross is worse. The sounds comming out of the strip clubes, pornography sex shops, and poker machine pubs is very very loud. They have speakers and amplifiers on the street. |
| The clubs can make as much noice as they like 24 hours a day...no problems.
Thats fine by me as the are just trying to run a business. But BUSKING IS NOW BANNED According to the "Busking Review Commitee" it is not the actual sound of the musical instruments that causes the problem but people singing along to songs. So Busking is the scape goat for the real villians in all this....people singing. No one gives a busker money because they feel sorrow...you only get money if you play well and people like waht your doing (or maybe in my case trying to do). It is all about the of joy and giving and to put a little light in the ugliness of the inner city.
